For one they(Adam Dunlap) never responded to my e-mail. I had simply asked for some info for our little group here in Track town. He never responded.
Secondly- Tyson Cecka has informed me that those cats have repeatedly refused to involve themselves in the local(NorthWest) PK scene. They hold no jams. Only charging for "outdoor training." They will not involve themselves with Oregon Pk. And will no donate no time for charities, or working with other groups.
I have gotten the impression that they fancy themselves a stuntman school, for elite Tracuers. Yet they don't even come out to jam... Lame- Imagine if Tim and I charged to meet up @ UofO? We all had a great time. I got to really be balls out for once and try things I never had the courage to try on pavement or even grass. It was one of the most intense training sessions (Physically and mentally) that I have ever experienced. We had great laughs and an all around amazing time. I want to thank the USGA for having us, and I hope we can make this a once a month trainning session. If any of the people who showed up want to comment with there experience there and what they loved, it would be awesome.

Revolution Parkour

A small gym in Beaverton,OR (p-town) is operating as a Parkour Gym. Teaching both adult and child classes. Its a video just released form Russia. If you just watch it and take away one awesome thing, its when one of the Traceurs is running through nature. It really shows that you don't need bid urban landscapes to practice or use parkour.

Parkour: The Real Story

Next is the Barclaycard Freerunning World Championships Highlight Video.

While I don't personally see Parkour as a competitive sport, some people do. And while I don't agree with these guys having it as a competition, I can still admire the physical side of it. Its quite impressive actually. So, Don't pass up this golden opportunity.

Fall Term Jam Times

So- at the least the Friday Jam will be changing soon. It can be located at Eugene Parkour

Right now there arnt that many photos, but I'm hoping we can make packing a camrea with us a regular thing for the meet ups. If you have any photos of you doing parkour outside the meet up and want them placed here just drop me a line at EPKTim@Gmail.com and I'll get them up there for you.

Also, on two of our last runs we were so lucky as to run into a photographer named Wolfram Burner who kindly took some photos of us doing our stuff. So quite a few of those pics are from him. If any of you have a chance I highly suggest checking out his photos at His Flickr Page.

Till Later,
- Tim

Running

I have found that my ability to run is sharply diminished. Once we all meet up, then we can figure out how everyone can get some time jamming/training with at least one other Tracuer.
Be Fit and stay Sharp! -Benjamin
All guys so far- any girlz wanna show us up?

Eugene Meets

Tim and I (benjamin) are the to authors for this site. I have heard that it was young kids, I've heard that it was to get away from drug dealers or cops. I've heard that it was how our ancestors hunted and I've heard that it was used for getting through the Vietnam Jungles during the war. I don’t know, honestly it doesn’t matter to me. Parkour is a philosophy, it is the act of overcoming obstacles both physical and psychological, and a way to stay in shape and better my body.

One interesting video that came to my attention recently shows basic Parkour, the interesting thing was the video was shot in the 1930's.

So While we can see it wasn’t a product of MTV we can understand that this idea, this concept of movement has been around for quite some time.

Parkour means different things to different people. Only so much can be accomplished as you are today. The reality of being a Tracuer(sp?) is to always be a beginner, yet have the steady confidence of the veterans body... So we will endlessly condition our bodies to be ready and able-
From my point of view, you should be able to do some basic exercises well; and with being too fatigued from the process. So here some are:
Run a 9 minute mile and be able to talk with ease at the end.
10 Pull-Ups with at least one left in the tank.
30 Body Squats, with juice left to sprint.
25 Push-Ups with out struggling.
The main theme here is that all of this should be within your normal range.
The only thing I'm struggling with is the pull-ups... I could do a lot better with the running. Many of you can do way more than 25 push-ups, yet body-squats will challenge some.
As much as getting together for Jams will be the fun, and training together will inspire- doing this type of boring horse-training on our own will allow, and facilitate, the group to excel.

Eugene Parkour

Sup My Fellow Tracuers-
Today we have started E.P.K.!!
