The Start of parkour

I've heard many things; none can be disputed or proven.

I've heard that it was Sebastian Foucan who started it, I heard it was David Bell who started it. I have heard that it was young kids, I've heard that it was to get away from drug dealers or cops. I've heard that it was how our ancestors hunted and I've heard that it was used for getting through the Vietnam Jungles during the war. I don’t know, honestly it doesn’t matter to me. Parkour is a philosophy, it is the act of overcoming obstacles both physical and psychological, and a way to stay in shape and better my body.

One interesting video that came to my attention recently shows basic Parkour, the interesting thing was the video was shot in the 1930's.

So While we can see it wasn’t a product of MTV we can understand that this idea, this concept of movement has been around for quite some time.

Parkour means different things to different people. Find what it means to you.
